About Megazee.com Physiotherapy in Manchester

Who we are, how we practise, and how to check our credentials for yourself before you book anything.

Megazee.com is a private physiotherapy clinic in Manchester. We assess and treat musculoskeletal problems: backs, necks, shoulders, knees, hips, and the injuries that arrive with sport, surgery, and long hours at a desk. This page explains who we are, how we practise, what our clinic contains, and how you can check our credentials for yourself before you book anything.

Why Megazee.com Exists

Most people who walk through our door have already tried something. A rushed fifteen-minute appointment. A printed sheet of exercises nobody explained. A scan result that sounded alarming and was never put in context. The common thread is not bad clinicians. It is not enough time with them.

So we built the clinic around three decisions and have not moved off them. Your first appointment is a full hour. You see the same physiotherapist for your whole course of treatment, not whoever has a gap in the diary. You leave every session with your plan in writing, so the work you do between appointments is as clear as the work we do in them.

That hour is not a luxury. In musculoskeletal practice, most of the diagnostic information comes from the history you give: how the problem started, what makes it worse at 3pm and better on a Sunday, what you are frightened it might mean. The physical tests that follow confirm or rule out what the history has already suggested. Rushing the conversation is how the wrong problem gets treated very well.

How We Practise Physiotherapy

Every course of treatment at Megazee.com follows the same four-part shape, whatever the body part.

We assess before we treat. That means a detailed history, a physical examination, movement and strength testing, and where it is useful, a baseline measurement we can retest later: your pain-free range of movement, or how many single-leg heel raises you manage before the calf gives out.

We explain what we found, in plain language. You should be able to repeat your diagnosis to someone else by the time you leave. Where we are uncertain, we say so, and we tell you what would change our thinking.

We treat with our hands and with load. Manual therapy, soft tissue work, joint mobilisation and needling where appropriate can settle symptoms and restore movement quickly. On their own they rarely hold. NICE guideline NG59 recommends exercise as a core treatment for low back pain and sciatica, and places manual therapy within a wider package rather than as a treatment on its own. The same principle shapes how we work across the rest of the body.

We progress the load, then we discharge you. Rehabilitation only works if it gets harder over time. We reassess at agreed points, tell you honestly when the measures are not moving, and finish treatment when you no longer need us rather than when a block of sessions runs out.

We are equally clear about the limits of our scope. Physiotherapy is not the answer to everything that hurts, and some presentations need a GP, a rheumatologist, an orthopaedic opinion or urgent care the same day. If your assessment points that way, we tell you there and then, and help you get to the right place. The NHS guide to physiotherapy is a useful neutral overview of what the profession covers.

Meet Your Manchester Physiotherapy Team

Patients book a person, not a building. Every Megazee physiotherapist is HCPC registered, chartered, and holds a named clinical interest they keep current through post-graduate training. Full profiles, including registration numbers and qualifications, are on our physiotherapy team page.

Dr Helena Marsh, BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, MCSP, HCPC registered (HCPC registered) Clinical interest: spinal pain and persistent pain Dr Helena Marsh spent ten years in NHS musculoskeletal outpatients before joining Megazee, and still sees more backs and necks than anything else. Their approach leans on graded exposure: taking the movements a person has quietly started avoiding and rebuilding tolerance to them, step by step. Post-graduate training in pain science and spinal manual therapy.

Ravi Shah, MSc Sports Physiotherapy, MCSP, HCPC registered (HCPC registered) Clinical interest: sports injury and return to play Ravi Shah works with runners, racket sport players and team athletes across Manchester, and has covered pitchside for local semi-professional clubs. Particular focus on tendon problems and on objective return-to-play testing, so the decision to resume full training rests on measured criteria rather than on how many weeks have passed.

Daniel Okonjo, BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, MCSP, HCPC registered (HCPC registered) Clinical interest: post-operative and lower limb rehabilitation Daniel Okonjo handles much of our post-surgical caseload, including knee and hip replacement, ACL reconstruction and shoulder repair. They work to the protocol set by the operating surgeon, liaise with consultant teams where that helps recovery, and are usually the person in our rehabilitation gym at seven in the morning.

Registered, Chartered, and Easy to Check

In the UK, “physiotherapist” is a protected title. It is unlawful to use it without appearing on the statutory register held by the Health and Care Professions Council, which sets the standards for training, conduct and continuing professional development. That register is public and searchable. You can check any clinician at any clinic in under a minute, and we would encourage you to do exactly that.

“Chartered” means something different, and the distinction is worth knowing. It refers to membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, the professional body for physiotherapy in the UK, and carries the post-nominals MCSP. Registration is the legal requirement; chartered status is the professional one. Our physiotherapists hold both, carry professional indemnity insurance, and complete the continuing professional development the regulator requires.

Everything that sits behind those claims is published rather than buried: our complaints procedure, our medical disclaimer, and our physiotherapy session prices and insurers we accept, including the cost of an initial assessment and our cancellation notice period.

Inside Our Manchester Clinic

The premises matter more than clinic websites usually admit. Rehabilitation needs space and equipment, not only a plinth and a pair of hands.

Megazee has private treatment rooms with height-adjustable plinths, and an on-site rehabilitation gym with free weights, resistance machines, cable systems, plyometric boxes, a treadmill and a bike. We use handheld dynamometry to measure strength objectively rather than by feel, so when we tell you the injured side has caught up, that is a number rather than an impression. Video gait and movement analysis is available for running, jumping and lifting problems.

Access is step-free from the street, with an accessible WC and ground-floor treatment space. Parking, public transport and a map are on our contact page, and the clinic is at 14 Bridgewater House, Quay Street, Manchester M3 3HN. If travelling to us is genuinely difficult, ask about home visits when you call 0161 000 0000.

Physiotherapy Beyond the Treatment Room

Clinic work is reactive by nature. People reach us once something has already gone wrong. The more useful half of the job happens before that point.

Our physiotherapists support local sports clubs and provide injury screening and pitchside cover across the Manchester amateur sport calendar. We run workplace movement and workstation sessions for local employers, which is where a good deal of the neck and shoulder pain we later treat is generated. The problems we are asked about most are set out in plain language across our conditions we treat pages, including physiotherapy for back pain and sciatica.

Book an Assessment With a Megazee.com Physiotherapist

You do not need a GP referral to see us. You can self-refer, choose your physiotherapist, and be assessed and treated in the same appointment. If you are using private health insurance, check first whether your insurer requires authorisation, and bring the authorisation code with you.
